I'll let you in on a secret..
I haven't done a beauty post in a while and I have no uni work to be done so I thought, what the heck!
A few weeks ago now I ordered loads of free samples from various websites, this is one of my sad hobbies I like to do every now and then. I received the sample tube of St Ives Fresh Skin in the post last week and I'm totally in love with it! I've used the original Apricot scrub in the past but this beats it by miles! The grains feel bigger and my face feels noticeably more clean, fresh and as smooth as a babies bottom! It's a must buy! I spotted it on in ASDA on the aisle where they have the smaller versions of things for travel and of course! My pink grapefruit body butter, it's too heavy for the face on days when you want to wear make-up but on days where your just relaxing at home or after a bath before bed its really something beautiful! It makes your face smell good enough to eat! NOM!!
I'd like to share with you a few beauty tips and secrets that you can do at home right now with the things in your kitchen! If your like me and can't always afford expensive creams, lotions and potions then these may be your miracle alternatives!
Blackheads! Those horrible little things you get on your nose and chin! I have really really oily skin and when I was a teen I had really deep ones, I tried scrubs, liquids creams you name it they wouldn't shift. Then my Grandma told me that tomatoes are great for blackheads. Sounds a bit silly to be rubbing a tomato on your nose but it works! My blackheads have minimised and have cleared from most of my nose and chin! Give it a try!
Crusty Lips! Especially just after I've been somewhere cold, my lips start to look like a snake shedding it's skin and honeys.. that ain't a good look for anybody! I've found that pressing a wet hot flannel on my lips for a few minutes and then rubbing / buffing in circles with the corner of a towel helps significantly! Unfortunetly this doesn't cure cracked lips so be sure to wear some lip balm! I'd recommend Body Shops sweet lemon butter balm! Yum!!
Oily Skin! As I mentioned before I suffer with really oily skin. Some days it feels like my make-ups slipping right off my face and melting under my chin! I find I have to blot my face with tissue to dry it off!
A friend told me that if you rub sliced apple on your face it helps to reduce the oiliness, this is something I'm yet to give a go! Fingers crossed it works! One thing I have found is a light moisturiser from ASDA by ASDA called Young Skin Matt Moisturiser, it's really helped tone down my greasy face. Another is lots of pressed translucent powder! Have this at hand at all times in case of a serious melt down!
Dark Circles! I myself haven't had this problem but my boyfriend gets really bad dark deep circles under his eyes, we've found that sitting thin slices of potatoes under the eye helps to relieve this. You can also buy patches from Bodycare for something like 50p which have vitamins and minerals which also help.
I hope you have enjoyed this post! I'm currently trying out some hair products and will post this week with my thoughts! Hope you've all had a lovely bank holiday!
