Crazy for interiors!

I downloaded an app called Houzz on my iPhone on Thursday, it's so inspiring! If you have an iPhone it's a must download, they also have a website, so check that out too! www.houzz.com I downloaded it Wednesday night then fell asleep before it finished downloading, I had a nosey at it on Thursday morning and instantly felt like my room was dull, boring and lacking space and functionality. If you didn't know, I share a room with my younger sister, I'm coming up to 20 and she's 13 in a couple of days, so you can imagine we have a lot of furniture to keep all our stuff together. Their has been a problem though. We have never, ever been able to keep our room tidy for more than a day. It's been an impossible task. After so many years of having a cluttered, messy room, I realised we need more open space and usable storage! We decided to turn the room totally right around which was a challenge! (and a workout) We've not even finished what we want to achieve and already I've noticed such a difference, just having a little extra floor space has improved our tidiness dramatically! Surprisingly also has changed our attitude towards each other, we're actually getting on! The above images are what inspired me the most to turn my room around!
I totally forgot to take some before shots, but here's what we've done up to now which is a massive improvement already. The next time you see it, it'll look like one of those shots above!

I'm hoping to find some cute pillows and a mattress which fits perfectly on top of my sets of draws to make a nice little seating area for when I'm blogging late at night and I want to be comfortable, I've thrown this together for now.. but it's just not right yet. I'm also planning on getting atleast 12 different cushions for my bed to make a day bed / sofa sort of things for when friends come round and some cute bedside lamps which attach to the walls. I'm ordering a desk finally! (After using a make-shift one out of my wardrobe space for about 2 years) Putting up some shelves and getting some cork board for maximum storage and 100% more pro-activity with my degree work. I'm also compressing my wardrobe down so my sister and I can share the big wardrobe and sell hers to make room for the desk. I'm also thinking about making a clever storage space in my closet, but we'll see how it all pans out! Wish me luck! :)
